Annie Lazarus/Corper

I'm researching Annie Lazarus,I have her birth in Stockport in1916,she married an Abraham V Corper in Salford in 1945 but from there the trail goes cold.I don't seem to be able to find any subsequent records for either her or Abraham.Can anyone help?

How did you get to Annie - what else do you know about her?

Did they appear to have any children in this country?

Any chance that they emigrated (e.g. to Israel) ?

Per freebmd - Abraham Victor Corper was b 1915 Bethnal Green - mothers maiden name Musaphia

Parents were Isaac Corper and Rachel Musaphia who married in London in 1898 - per freebmd

Do you know what Abraham's occupation was on his marriage cert?  No apparent births in England to Annie and Abraham

Annie is my friends grandmother,his father was born to Annie in 1935,father unknown and subsequently abandoned,All that was known is that she later married someone called Corper and then disappeared..

As you have said, they appear to disappear.

So, did they emigrate - easiest explanation.

Have you considered putting the family in a tree on ancestry and other sites, so that you can be contacted by relations of your friend - or asking your friend to do so?

Have you started to track Annie's siblings and Abraham's siblings to see if that gives you any leads?  (Are any of them in trees on ancestry or other sites?)

Have you got her (Annie's)  birth certificate - or have you applied for it?

I've done all of these,My friend has his dad's birth certificate,from which he was able to trace her parents and thus siblings.
We thought he had a lead through someone correcting Annie's elder sister's 1911 census record,however that came to nought.

Could be worth searching for "variants" of surname - Cooper, Cowper etc. as Corper, very individual, can be easily distorted ... especially if people are wanting to vanish???

They may have wanted to vanish.

However, there are not many births each year with Mother's maiden name of Lazarus, and nothing resembling variants of Corper.

They might not have had children, or they might have altered her maiden name, but why bother?

Have you got exact dates of birth for them, just to do a death search to see what turns up?
