This is my family - Peter was my great great grandfather.  His only child Jessie was married to James T. Miller and their oldest child was my grandmother, Eliza.  The family lived in Ohio for years, but  in 1905 relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y.  That's where my father was born.  I am trying to find out where in Ireland that James Miller was born.

Looking for family in other years to see if anyone mentions a more specific birthplace, but not for parents in 1891

1891
   Barrow In Furness
William Miller   55  Ireland  holder-up to rivetter
Sarah J Miller   55   Ireland
Joseph Miller   20   Ireland  tailor
Sarah J Miller   17   Ireland   dress maker
John H Miller   4 born Barrow, relationship not specified
Class   RG12       Piece 3486      Folio 91      Page 22

Added:
In 1901 William and Sarah are 'born Ireland' and John H is recorded as son.

Ancestry was the only source...but on all the census' after his marriage his place of birth was listed as England.   This was the first source that gave his parents names.

Hi
I have just come across your post while looking for information on Charlotte Wyllie Miller. I only have her on the 1881 census. Apart from her Christening she doesn't appear on the Isle of Man records.any ideas. I do know that her brother David Miller was living with his aunt and uncle Mary and John Hart at Stubshaw Cross Ashton in Makerfield in 1901. He was taken in by them after his mother Jessie  Casey Miller died in 1898.  I realise you are looking for something totally different to me, but wondered if you had anything on Charlotte.
Thankyou
Joyce
