Hi All,

An H.E. Clamp has popped up in my inquiries into British Secret Service activities in the 1890s.

I would like to establish whether or not it is this person -

Herbert Ephraim Clamp, poet and US newspaper columnist–

Birth:       Jan. 14, 1861, Suffolk, England
Census 1881:   Grocer and Draper, Bildeston, Suffolk
Marriage:      June 1882, [Ipswich], Agnes Sarah Ann Miller
Death:       Mar. 16, 1911, New York, USA

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Simon

Hi Sam,

Many thanks for the correction and extra information.

As far as I can ascertain, H.E. Clamp wrote just one volume of poetry: "The Pleasures of Human Life, and Other Poems", published by Joseph Merrell, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk [1877]. I think the volume was privately printed.

Regards,

Simon
