Heapy marriage
« on: Thursday 18 December 14 10:56 GMT (UK) »
I  have been sorting out my records and find that I have 2 records for the marriage of Joseph
Heapy and Martha Wardle.   They married on 11 Jan 1819,  but was it at Longnor or Alstonfield? :-[
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Not absolutely sure about this - BUT Alstonefield marriages have been transcribed on FreeREG from 1813 to 1916 and there is no record of this marriage, and I tried both surnames, and just entered the county of Staffordshire.   :'(  Longnor marriages have not yet been transcribed.  Nothing on Findmypast either, and they only have Alstonefield.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
