Not at all! I was actually wondering how you did it?  ??? Considering I didn't even know creases could be taken out of photos until the other day. Faces didn't even enter my mind like that, so I was curious how it was done...

I think Carolyn was annoyed by your suggestion that she must have been bored. As I said before, doing restores like this is not "easy enough for the right person", and when people invest a lot of time and effort into it, it is from a desire to help others, and certainly not from boredom.

Communication on a forum board is notoriously difficult, and it is easy to misinterpret tone and intention - it happens every day. I'm sure you didn't mean to sound ungrateful, but if you read your message " You must be bored haha. How did you get his face like that??", it certainly doesn't read as a thank you.

We all get it wrong from time to time though.

Mike

I see. Certainly not the case, Carolyn said that the images were too small to really get a good result so I didn't think it would pop up for me to see. perhaps if I didn't write "haha" which these days feels as useful in messages as "lol" for me, even though others such as Carolyn would not know that. I do appreciate the effort put in even though my ignorance I guess you call it thought that it would be an easy thing to fix.
I honestly had no idea the effort or time included to do this sort of restore as I haven't kept up with computer programs, hence the title. Knowing now that it is photoshop or gimp, I can understand how Carolyn would feel about my last post to her.
Also as I've said thank you to her before, twice I'm sure (unless it was two users with the same name?) I really felt that if I kept saying it over and over it wouldn't seem a genuine thank you over time but a simple copy paste sort of thing.

I am actually really blown away from the community here on RootsChat it's really made me feel like a somebody when I can relate a genealogy topic with another individual and not be told I'm wasting my time in the past when I should be in the "now". I get carried away with this aspect of my life, you know? :)

anyways, Merry Christmas and God bless.
Mark.

Hi Mark

Just want to point out that we are in fact two different people!  I am CAROLINE (Cazza59) with the Manchester  United photo. I live in Queensland, Australia that "spoke" to you originally and requested the better scans, which you then said you would be able to get.

CAROLYN (Saddles) is the person that later posted and removed her work.  Carolyn lives in Western Australia, which accounts for why we often post around the same.

We have been confused in the past, so all in all, an honest mistake to make on your part, particularly being new to the board.   I guess from now on to avoid further confusion, I will sign off as Caz.

Anyway, I look forward as per my original posting and your response in saying that you would be posting better scans as soon as you have seen your Dad.  ;)

Cheers
Caroline AKA Caz   :) :) :)

PS  My daughter uses "ha ha"  all the time to let me know she's having a joke!  ;)

Very confused by it all, I write haha instead of lol coz it's very over used by all these "kewl kidz" who must take every possible great thing in this world and use it and use it until it's lost all meaning. So is there a way to block on this site? I don't have time for arguments and I shouldn't have to explain myself to anyone, should be as simple as if I like something, I like it. If I don't, then I don't. simple. Right?

Thank you Mike for coming to my defence.

You hit the nail on the head...... yes it was being told you must be bored ha ha, like you know a lot of eyestrain and effort and time goes into doing restorations, plus we do it out of the goodness of our own hearts.

Merry Xmas Mike !.
