From reply #12, the witness to Maud Slator's death was her daughter M Margaret McMillan living at 60 Blackheath Park, Dublin. Here's her marriage to Jan McMillan via GRONI.

I didn't think I'd find so much about my descendants but this thread has been absolutely fantastic. William John Slator who was the the Headmaster at Strandtown primary school was my Great great grandfather. His daughter Eleanor Slator and my Great Grandmother married my Great Grandfather John Thompson Hoey. He was a Portmanteau or luggage maker. Her brother James Sleator, the artist I was aware of but didn't realise he was a significant artist of the time. Interestingly he was the head model for the famous Cuchulain statue in the GPO Dublin. https://www.dib.ie/biography/sleator-james-samuel-sinton-a8120https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Sleator Her son John Hoey, my grandfather was skilled tradesman in Shorts and by all accounts a very good cross country runner at Irish country level. He married Doris Douds my Grandmother who had three children including my Dad who passed away in 2021. I suppose that's why I've taken an interest in finding out about my family tree. My Uncle never married and my Aunt Ann died in a road traffic accident long before I was born. My Dad lost both his parents when he was about 11. So the trail was quite cold to start with. I'd be interested to hear about any further Slator relations. Anything else from the Slators futher back in Armagh in the 19th Century would be fascinating. From reading around there are suggestions that they were originally Scottish Presbyterian settlers.
