Hello Tigger, I notice that you are researching the Riders of Hockerill/Bishops Stortford. My wifes family are descendents of this branch. I would be more than happy to share what I have.

My wifes link is with John Douglas Rider and his daughter Blanche (Gardie) Rider, who married into the Tinsley family.

In anticipation,

Clive

Hi, I am descended from George and Ann , son Henry Rider is my great grandfather.
We cannot find a death record for him, alive in 1891, but supposed to have died by 1897.
Has anyone any information that may help?
Judith Rider daughter of George and Ann married Thomas Joseph Nightingale in Bishops Stortford 19th March 1867 but cannot find any further information after this date. Can anyone help?

Hello,

Mary Rider, daughter of George and Ann, is my Gt Gt Grandmother. She married John Crichton Bilby. John was a scot from Holywood Village in Dumfrieshire. John and Mary had 8 children. The first 5 were born in Hertfordshire before the family moved back to Dumfrieshire where the 3 youngest children were born, including my Gt Grandfather George Bilby.  I have quite a bit of information about the Bilbys if anyone is interested in this branch of the family.

Hello Yellowfinch.
I have just spotted your post. Judith Rider and Thomas Joseph Nightingale are my great-grandparents. Thomas was in the army and they spent time in India and Ireland, and had six daughters and one son.  I know lots about them and their descendants.
Are you interested in anything in particular?
