To add insult to injury I am now unable to access any records on FindMyPast but, instead, get directed to the subscription page............even though I get a "welcome".    >:(   ::)

I'm just imagining the panic in the FindMyPast offices when the mistake was discovered.  :D

Were heads rolling, heads in hands and headless chickens going round in circles!

And shouts of 'It wasn't me, I'm not responsible'

I too purchased the £10 yearly sub and have received the same email as others snatching it away and giving me a free month.  I immediately went on the FindMyPast site to see if my automatic renewal was still unchecked after they changed my subscription, it was, but I suggest you all check yours - they have made a huge mistake, they could well make another  ::)

Totally disgusted, sticking with Ancestry in future  >:(

I see from FB that it does seem that the free month has only been given to people without subscriptions in an attempt to persuade them to take out a subscription. Once again a case of loyalty not being rewarded.

Well it is, if you go in to subscriptions you can get 10% discount on annual sub

Like everyone else my subscription has been cancelled they are supposed to be refunding my £10.  I have done most of my research on my family but I have a few loose ends to sort out so I will be very busy in the next month getting as much information as I can from this site before the months free use ends, then I will go elsewhere if necessary.

Once again a case of loyalty not being rewarded.

Try being a World subscriber - you don't even get a chance at the £1 for a month, or any other offer for that matter, and the non-UK records are fairly pants anyway as it turns out.

So I asked them to down-grade my sub to UK only without any refund of payment, but guess what, they "can't".

I did get an email about an offer with Debenhams for £49 which said "your membership will last one year from point of redemption" so I going to buy it to use when the World sub ran out, but elsewhere it said 6-months so I checked with them before parting with my cash - just as well, it is only 6-months.

They really do need to get their act together.
