FindMyPast subscription £10 for year

it didn't work either with or without auto-renew for me.

I have got unused credits which might be causing the glitch.

I acquired the credits a good 2or3 years ago when I didn't have a sub, they expired but as soon as I got a sub they resurrected.

I have unused credits which I have had for ages but I did have an annual sub when I got them. Now they show on my account details as running until Oct 2016.

The other day I unticked the box to see whether it generated an email - it did, I left it unticked.  Today I have taken advantage of this offer and have just looked at my account and the box is ticked. There is no mention on the email extending my membership until 2016 about the 'auto renew'

I had an existing subscription and it worked fine for me.  I am thinking that they only allowed a finite number at that price.  I have tested it again and it now says NOT VALID

Maybe you are right? Perhaps some of us just got the offer at the right time?   I put the code in the at the bottom of the page (under the pay as you go area and then went back up the page and clicked on the year's subscription box, filled out the relevant information and it worked okay for me.  It also reserected some credits I had not used from some freebie awhile ago.  It's odd.

I had let my sub expire some time ago after the changes.

You have to wonder how their system works?  I've never had a year's sub - I only ever take out a month when it's on offer and I always uncheck auto renew-  therefore not one of their more profitable customers.  So, no offer of a year sub for me but it did offer a month for a £1 - I've used the code four times so far and I'm now extended to April 2015. Might just carry on.....

panic posted on the previous page of this thread that the code appeared on a blog in relation to a monthly sub, I wonder whether it shouldn't have worked with the annual subscription and that's why it's not working now as they realised the error.

Could well be smudwhisk, it does seem a very generous offer. If it was a mistake, lets hope they honour the subscriptions that have been renewed/extended.

I suspect they will even if its to avoid any more negative feedback about the company.  They were purchased in good faith and if the error (assuming it was an error) was caused by their site, which seems a good possibility, its not the fault of the purchasers.  They've had quite a few £1 for a month offers this year anyway that I suspect many have taken them up on these rather than purchase a full subscription.  Its not really much different to someone purchasing multiples of these.
