I suppose if it was an error they could refund the £10 for people who bought multiple years.

I hope not but anything's possible. In theory I would have thought once they issued the confirmation email it was a completed purchase bought in good faith. Its only subsequently that its been realised perhaps it was an error on their part. Unlike with physical goods, they're not delivering anything other than access to the site but I suppose the law may allow them to claim it was a mistake. The inactive subscriptions I suppose could be revoked but its a little unfair when the error was theirs and their system allows them to be purchased.
As I said previously, there have been so many £1 per month offers this year anyway, its no different to someone just using them each time their existing subscription expires.
We shall have to wait and see but I'm hoping they won't revoke them.
