hi there all ! looking for a wee bit help for an old friend who remembers going to gorbals glasgow years ago.  we are looking to see if anyone can remember the drysdale family from gorbals and i think the ones are the drysdales who lived at either Logan street or Nicholson street both gorbals Glasgow.   the family might be the Alexander James drysdale and Margaret hunter who were married in wigtownshire   glenluce area about 1940 ish.

at one time it is possible the family lived at gillespie farm in that area,i think they had a few children  but one may be  (*) drysdale born early 1940's and went on to marry (*) in the early 60's at paisley i think he came  from ballina county Mayo he was a roads contractor but i am trying to unravel the drysdales in gorbals Glasgow area and  my old friend is wondering what happened to them all for instance what happened to (*) and her siblings if this above is correct  i have worked out through Scotland people Alexander and Margaret died  but the remaining family is a mystery maybe (*) went to Ireland so can anyone help bring me up to date with this family.even the names of alexanders and margarets other children

RootsChat is meant for finding ancestors, rather than living friends and relatives.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

You will also find more tips here:

Hi big nanook

Hopefully someone may be able to add more details here. Just a suggestion though, given the time period and very specific location you are looking at, there are a number of very dedicated forums for the Gorbals such as here www.thegorbals.co.uk/thegorbalsanecdotes.html that might be worth you also posting on to ask for help  :)

There are also a number of fantasctic sites with huge libraries of photograph and commentary such as here http://urbanglasgow.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1243&start=0  There further sites...,

Try the Old Gorbals Pictures group on Facebook, it's odds on that someone on there will know the family.
