Looking for information on my grandmother

My grandmother Joan Mary Escott, died in Port Elizabeth on 9 March 1947, aged 28. She married Cyril Alfred Koers sometime during the 1930's. I'm looking for her marriage certificate to see if I can trace anymore of the family. Any help will be much appreciated.

Welcome to RootsChat!
Presumably you are referring to Port Elizabeth, South Africa?

Yes, Port Elizabeth in South Africa. I'm sure she got married in Port Elizabeth as my mother was born there and she was only 5 years old when her mother passed away.

I know the family are originally from Ireland and UK and I'm almost certain her parents moved over to South Africa. I'm not sure which country of the two countries she was born in though.

If you look at eggsa.org under gravestone search there is a photograph of her tombstone.

Thanks very much. I have seen that already. I have no idea where to look to find information on getting information on her birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc. I would love to know more about her and her family (my family too)
