i would like to point out that there a few ways to check the scope of "microfilmed " records that have come to the internet or were of the old International Genealogical Index microfische.....
Firstly we use the Hugh Wallis indexing available on the freepages of ancestry but can be quickly found by putting for example Dewsbury Hugh Wallis into the search engine.......

the other way to get scopes is to look on dustydocs.....

then we also use the County Websites to see what was actually in the holdings....  and lastly we check the local or county family history group or organisation just in case they offer the particular village or parish transcription for a minimal fee.....

please dont rely on the scopes of anc as a total means to an end for the records as usually they are derived from the familysearch.org site and if it hasnt appeared on the latter well....   i need not go there......

hang in there with some of these things cos sometimes we all find we reach a peak or pivot point where we simply cant get back any further.........   also try using British Newspaper Archive _{, Historical Directories [free], the NA site for probates of the Canterbury Court or simply use the County Archives sites........     one has to be fairly liberal about the phonetics toooo and I can imagine Hemmingway has quite a few variations.........}

Its possible Martha Kingsbury Hemingway was baptised a just Martha and Kingsbury added later to please a grandparent
