Taylor or Gentile

My grandfather Girolomo gentile married Annie Taylor in Leeds 1892 under the name of John Taylor. I understand they lived in Dewsbury where my grandfather was an Italian Street Musician. Annie's father was James Taylor Blacksmith (deceased at the time of marriage.

In July 1892 they had a baby girl born in Dewsbury which they called Mary Gentile Taylor. In 1912 she changed her name to Maria Gentili and married Joseph Diponio in Chester.

Girolomo gentile (John Taylor) and Annie Taylor had 3 other children by the marriage, Eleanor born 1906 Dewsbury. Francis born 1898 Chester and Rose born and died in 1901 Chester.

I have been able to trace Mary's (Maria's) life, but I cant find where Eleanor and Francis went when Girolomo and Annie parted betwean 1906 and 1910.

Girolomo met my grandmother and went to live in Shrewsbury and then in Oswestry, later returning back to Chester where he died in 1929.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks for the information.

Yes Francis or Frances was born in Chester 1898. She could have used the Italian  version, Francesca to get married as did her sister. She  was registered as Mary and Married Joseph Diponio as Maria Gentili in 1912. the birth certificate is well worth following up to see if my Grandfather Girolomo Gentile is named on the certificate as her father.

The marriage in 1921, was the belated second marriage of my Grandfather and Grandmother.

Yes, he was my Grandfather, Girolomo Gentile, AkA Taylor. My mother was Antonio Gentile's sister.

I'm not sure how much your cousin Geoff knows about his ancestry but I think it's ironic that his life path has taken a Chester born boy back to the country of his great grandfather where he has lived for many years now.
