try online resources first.
Where was Eliza in 1841?

Anything on Familysearch baptisms?
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Hi, I don't know were she was in 1841, the first census I have is the 1851 she is then with her husband, living in Birmingham

Henry  NICHOLES   Head   M   24   M   Pearl Button Maker   Birmingha-War
Eliza  NICHOLES   Wife   M   22   F   ---   Wednesbury-Stf

The names have been transcribed wrong should be Nicholls

Hi
Eliza is proving difficult to find but here are the family at Henn St Birmingham in 1841
John Hateley 25 pistol maker n
Jane 20 n
Eliza 12 n
John 7 y
Charles 4 y
Isaiah 3mths y (bapt St Barts Wednesbury 6.3.1842)
In 1851 they are at the same address
John 40 publican West Bromwich
Jane 39 Wednesbury
John 17 gun worker Birmingham
Charles 13
William 4
Jane Maria 2
Henry 1mth.
Isiah was buried at St Paul's age 2 from Mountford St.John and Charles baptised All Saints West Bromwich 11.6.1837 born 9.4.1834 and 18.5.1837 .The gun making district is at Hill top between Wednesbury and West Bromwich so that makes sense.
The children seem to have married at St Phillips Birmingham.
I can't spot a marriage so you may have to get one of the younger children's birth certificates for Jane's maiden name.
ps It looks like John's parents were John and Sarah from Hill Top pistol filer baptism All Saints 28.8.1808.(John Senior born 1783 West Bromwich from other censuses)

Hi
It's a pleasure I got quite absorbed in the Hateley family.I did find a bit more but I didn't want to add too much.I do tend to get a bit carried away .
But it seems silly not to give you what I also found so  here are the burials for  Sarah and John Hateley just to save you a bit of time.
Sarah wife of John of  Water St age 62 27.11.1845 St Pauls Birmingham
John Hateley 13.1.1864 St Peter and St Pauls Aston from Fisher St.(Will for £20 to son John ).
I also looked at the Poll and Voter list for Birmingham and West Bromwich ,strangely it looks like John senior is included on both 1837 -1861 ,he qualified by owning a house in Hill Top.
All the best
