Hoping that someone might help me locate Sarah Ann Smith and her family.  Sarah was born circa 1840 possibly in the Copford area.   Thank you.

Not in Copford, I am afraid, any more clues to where they could be?

Pat:
Not really sure.  Perhaps Stanway or Colchester.  Believe Sarah may have been illegitimate since no father given on her marriage certificate (married in 1859 in Copford)so assume with mother or grandparents perhaps.
Thanks,
Lynne

Either Looks like a good possibility.  Sarah married a Samuel Theedam  in 1859.  Her first born was named George James (George was Samuel's father).  Her daughter was named Mary Ann.  The only other clue I have is that Sarah had a sister named Ellen, presumbably younger.  Perhaps checking the 1851 census might shed more light.  Thank you so much for your help Sue.

Still looking for Sarah Ann Smith in 1851 census.  Would be age 10/11 born Copford.  Perhaps living with mother (name unknown) or grandparents Samuel and Mary and sibbling (?) William age 12?  Perhaps, if not in Copford, in a parish close by.  By 1859 she was married to Samuel Theedam in Copford.  According to her later records she has a sister named Ellen Bateman.  Any help appreciated.  Thank you
Lynne
