Harry Nicholls
« on: Thursday 13 November 14 10:34 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the birth & death of Harry.

On a family bible I have it has a birth for Harry Nicholls born Aston March 7th 1850 and a death for him on 'can’t read month’ 31st 1853.
Haven’t been able to find either,

Father, Henry, Mother Eliza or Elizabeth
TIA.

Nick

Thanks for the prompt reply Suzard, I have tried to get a birth certificate for him, but the Birmingham register office say that the mothers maiden name doesn't fit with the name Elisabeth.

Thank again Nick

The 1861 census is defiantly them all the names are in the bible I mentioned George the two year old is my Grandfather.
It was the name Elizabeth that they said didn't fit.
Thanks again Suz for your interest and help.

Did you give Eliza as an alternative?

Sometimes they just guess what is written

I know of a marriage cert where they put occs of groom and father as "hangman" - when the original record clearly read "dairyman" -twice!!! The reg office admitted they had "guessed"

My grandfather's marriage cert copy has his age as 30 when in fact it was 36
