Hello Len,

Just so I know I'm on the right track, did Francis Hopkin marry Ann Prior in 1751 at Downham?
It does say that Ann was from Fordham, and Francis junior was born there.

Here's the entry from the register - second page, near the top

Hello again,

This is a tough one!

There were two families baptising Hopkin children around this area in the early 1700's, as I expect you've seen.
I've been looking at Freereg.

A Francis and Clement Hopkin had several children in Denver, including a Francis, baptised 1726/7, but this Francis died when only a few months old.

Also a Francis and Elizabeth Hopkin having children in nearby Hilgay, with a Francis Hopkin baptised 1724.
Couldn't find a death while he was an infant, so he could be "yours"

I'll see if I can do any better with Ann Prior.
