Hi,

1922 Commonwealth Electoral Roll.

John Mackie, 53 Denison St Rockhampton, baker.
Miriam Lucy Mackie, 53 Denison St, Rockhampton, home duties.

Also

John Mackie, Darcy St, Mount Morgan, baker.
Miriam Lucy Mackie, Darcy St, Mount Morgan, home duties.

May indicate a shift from Rockhampton to nearby Mount Morgan during 1922.

Gerry

Address Morgan St. Mt Morgan

MACKIE, Miriam Lucy

There is ww2 enlistment summary for John William

http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/Veteran.aspx?serviceId=A&veteranId=111477

He was born 13 June 1919 in Middlesex after the February marriage and must have travelled with his mother to Australia.

Very sad for Miriam to lose both husband and son at such young ages.

Thank you so much for all your information I am overwhelmed with the help received and have followed up all the links. I know I would not have managed to source all these historical memories on my own. On some of our death certificates in Scotland the person present at the death if not residing in the home states where they live. When John Mackie was at the death of his Father in 1916 in Nairn his residence was given as Oxford Street Okleigh Melbourne. Thanks again.

Ruth

Hi Ruth,
The WW1 enlistment records show that John MACKIE enlisted at Essendon which is a suburb of Melbourne in the State of VICTORIA.   At some stage John must have resided in Melbourne and after his return from the war headed to the State of QUEENSLAND where a lot of the Electoral Roll information has been found.
All the States of AUSTRALIA have their own separate records covering different periods of time.
Your rellies have been quite adventurous being found in three States of Australia, VICTORIA, QUEENSLAND and STH AUSTRALIA.
Best wishes as you continue in your research,
Sashar
