There are couple of newspaper mentions (Londonderry Sentinel 1939 and 1945) of a Robert Millar, bus driver, of 103 Dungiven Road, which would seem to tie in well with the 'facts' known to bigjon and the marriage suggested as a possibility by maryderry.

Regarding the Dohertys/Millers
I am Mary's Grandson and son of Patrick. I may be able to fill in some of the blank spots if anyone wants to message me.

So glad to see a connection to the Millars. My grandparents and their family lived next door in 105 Dungiven Rd. - Jim and Meta Mitchell. They had a shop in the 1940s.  I know from this search there is a daughter of Marie. The Millars were always spoken with high regard by my mum and her siblings.

my father was Patrick and i am his only child has 2 sons and Marie has a son and daughter.
my father passed away almost 5 years to this day and ironically my grandmother all passed away at this time of year.
my father was the last of the siblings to pass away.
i was close to my grandmother and she spoke of your grandparents ,she had a close friend a Mrs Mitchell and she had neighbours in Bann Drive called Mitchell.
at this stage i probably have as much of an idea of the family history as anyone.
If i can be of any assistance to anyone please feel free to contact me

This is my grandmother, siblings etc are all correct, her younger brother Kevin died of septicaemia as a result of being struck by a cricket. I have various documents relating to the family going back over a century. I am more than happy to assist with inquiries.
