Hallo. I am guessing that you are the chap I met at Woodhorn in August who looked up some Olivers and Cracketts for me. Do you have a Newton Henderson in your Ashington Coal Company list?

Not a coal mining death.
He was born in 1874. He emigrated to the States with his sons in 1923. In 1911 he is a hewer living in Amble. His wife died in 1913 and after that my teenage granny, who was his niece, went to keep house for him and her three boy cousins in Ashington. This is why I am wondering if he worked for the Ashington Coal Company at some stage. Possible that his boys also worked there. John (Jack) 1900, Randle 1903 and Newton 1906. The youngest, Newt, is part of my childhood memories, as he enjoyed returning to his roots. This family is of particular interest to me as my granny's cousins were double cousins since two brothers married two sisters.

Doesn't quite fit with these ones I am looking for, but might well still be one of mine. Thanks. I will take a closer look at him too.
