Thank you Patrish, Keyboard86 and claire,t for your interest, researches and info/suggestions. Very much appreciated and I will investigate them.

Marriage Cert. says Father, John was a labourer and deceased at time of marriage.  Husband Robert was a Carrier by trade so that might account for wanderings to Germany and elsewhere?

Thanks again all for your help, it has given me some useful leads.

Regards to All 3,

HSU

Hi again, looking at the 1841 for Robert, I do not read his occupation as Carrier more like Currier J eg a Journeyman Currier?

Which if the case makes me wonder why/how he went to Germany?

I would value a second opinion though!

Hi,

Wedding cert gives Robert as a Carrier.

The S. Kilvington link also gives a Sister, Elizabeth baptised in 1813 and she links to Mother, Mary in 1841 & 1851 Censuses.

I also found a marriage in Thirsk on 04 May 1812 between John Oliver and Mary Dodgson which could fit with birth of Elizabeth?
