WW1 Regiment Help
« on: Monday 27 October 14 10:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to decipher information from the attached 1915 death certificate.
I'm reading it as:
John Johnstone. (Private No 3172 1st Super? Company? 2/7 RH)
I thought RH was maybe Royal Highlanders, can anyone help to decipher this?
I've also searched that name and army number, but no medal records seem to be available.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bryan

If he was 2/7 Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) he was in a unit that did not go overseas - so no medals - so no medal card.

Thanks for clearing that up, appreciate that.

Do you think I've deciphered it correctly? 1st Super Company?

Thanks again

Bryan
