Thanks for posting,
Skoosh
.
If anyone is descended from this family, I can put them in touch with at least four more descendants. I've had a copy of this book for many years, but have not been able to connect them to my own Blacks in New Monkland.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

G'day from a Briech Water Black in Australia.
Skoosh and Forfarian I would appreciate any help as my tree
is becoming stunted and has a lack of growth, in fact I have been
researching the Blacks for the last twenty years.
Thanking you both in anticipation.

Have sent a message to the descendants I know of drawing their attention to your message above.

Hello,
I've copies of all three of John Black's books and have extensively researched the family, including checking out the details given to John by his Aunt (several generations were mixed up), also information from the New Zealand and Australian Blacks. My email is
meg.stenhouse@btinternet.com
if you are interested. Also got information of the Stories (storey) etc and Waddels and Thorntons.

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if there has ever been a connection of any Breich Water Blacks to County Tyrone, specifically, the kildress/cookstown areas.
Thank you,
Jay

I am a descendant of William Black (the author) as well as James S. Black of Denver, USA and his daughter Ethel, who are mentioned in John Black's Melodies and Memories (on p.203). Ethel is my grandmother and I would be interested in talking to any descendents of Black's.

Hello, I have just been sent a copy of The Blacks of Breich Water. Jane Black (married to James Crawford) daughter of William Black & Jane Wood, is my 4th g-grandmother. I've been going through the info in the book to add to my family tree... I must say I'm getting a little confused with all the different generations! I'm also in Australia.

As you will see above, I've had a copy for years, and I tried to sort it out by putting the information into a genealogy program. Do you have such a program?
