There are more records with slightly different spellings- Legoupillot rather than Le Goupillot.

The marriage Manchester Rambler refers to in 1965 with the same full name that you have for Cecil, for example in Todmorden.
Is this the man who died in 1980s?

Yes, he died in or around 1987. I'm not sure which spelling of the name is correct, it could well be legoupillot as one word, but I wouldn't like to say for definate

The one who died in 1987/8 was possibly married to Enid Johnson- does that ring a bell?

Do you have your grandmother's maiden name - your dad's mum?

Do you have your dad's birth certificate?

Hi Jim, sorry I didn't see that message.

John Albert le Goupillot was definately a Cecil. I don't recall Alice or Lena

The only marriage I can see at the moment re an Ellen Bickerstaffe is to Philip Reid in 1952, Littleborough.

Free BMD shows 4 children to this marriage. I can't name them as they may still be living.

The dates about right, littleborough is relevant, the names are correct, but Peter Reid was my uncle. He was Ellen's son, my dads brother.

But a Phillip. That doesn't ring any bells. I shall leave the Peter Reid in though as that may, or may not help.
