He said he was married in 1861 which I suppose he was even though Diana was not with him.

In 1871 James has his son with him(although I cant see at this moment which son it was) that is why I thought its the same  James.

In 1881 Diana is down as ANN. RG11/2915 F65 P18.

Well I have decided that Diana is with William in 1861 as Ann I can't quite work out how old she is it might be 44 and I think those are their children although they didn't get married until 1863.I cant find a marriage for William to a Ann between 1851 and 1861 in Worcestershire or Herefordshire. Also he said he was single when they married.

Hi There

I think it would be a good idea to have a look at the marriage cert as that will give the fathers & may help you to trace the correct family rather than risk following the wrong line

Good luck

All the very best

Hi Alan,

In 1861 Diana was living in Worcester. She also went by
the first name of Ann. I am a descendant of James
Haynes. He died in 1897. I do have details of when and
where they (William and Diane)were married.

Hi Thenance. Welcome to Rootschat.

I do know James and Diana were married 3/11/1834 at St Swithins,Worcester.

Diana went on to marry William Daniels in 1863 all though she said she was married  in the 1861 census.

It looks like while William was their lodger in 1851 census it led to them getting together while she was still with her husband James. The three children Thomas,James and Joseph born from 1853 onwards were Williams.Maybe she was divorced before 1853.

Hi Alan, from what I have been able to find, when she married William, she said she was a widow which we know was not true.

Marriage on the 4th May 1863 Saint Peters Church Worcester
William Daniels aged 37 a Bachelor occupation Labourer living at Little Park Street Father Thomas Daniels a Labourer.
Diana Haynes aged 44 a Widow living at Little Park Street Father Edward Spragg a Blacksmith
Witnesses: Henry Jones (his mark x)  & Hannah Daniels (sister / mother?)
William Daniels made his mark x Diana Haynes signed.

I do know that the son that appeared on the 1871 census is her son with James. His name was John and he was my great grandfather.

Where do you fit into the tree?

Nancy
