Maggie you have sort of broken a fairly strong rule not to publish names of living people in your SAVAGE Thread. It would be best to go back and remove the daughters names.

Hi Neil,
So sorry, I should have realised.  I have fixed the Australian and NZ one.
Once again, my apologies.
Regards
Maggie

Top Stuff Maggie ;D Now the girls likely married so possibly a check of TROVE the newspaper archive may see some marriage or engagement announcements. Then it's off to the White pages I am afraid.

Of course you know that RC is not about finding living people.

Do you have any idea what part of Australia he moved to ?
Did he go there early or late in life ?

The first thing to do,  would be to obtain a death certificate and see what it has to say about his family.   For a death as recent as 1995,  that may not be straightforward, for privacy reasons.

From the Ryerson Index, Bruce O’Brien SAVAGE aged 55 died February 1990, late of Granville.   The notice was indexed from the Sydney Morning Herald.

Ryerson Index  http://ryersonindex.net/search.php

So I suggest he did not die in 1995, and that it is likely he died in NSW, and most likely he had lived in Granville, a suburb of western Sydney near to Parramatta.

It is possible to follow up and gain access to the SMH notices, which may well include details about the living descendants of this chap.

Members of the general public are restricted from accessing NSW death certs for the first 30 years.   But there is no such restrictions over accessing the newspaper cuttings.

Yes, you are right, I had the death date wrong, it was 1990 and I have already accessed the newspaper clipping through the National Library.  This is a bit of a sad storey, and I just thought maybe someone out there might have some information.  I have quite a few photos and, if I ever did make contact, thought it would be nice to give back to the family.
Probably think this is all too hard, but thanks again for your reply.
