Your profile does not say where you live but if you are not able to go to one of the Sussex record offices you can order the film of the parish register to search at your nearest LDS centre.  They are listed on familysearch.

Its possible you may be able to share your search with another, or at least pool your respective knowledge.  On 31 March 2004, Tony (Anthony James?) wrote on the Rootsweb website;

I have a Daniel SAYERS who dies in 1883 who stated that his father was Daniel SAYERS probably from Horsham or Shipley, it is this man, Daniel SAYERS the elder, that I am trying to trace.

Hello Roy, yes I have pooled my knowledge on Ancestry, I joined recently, and the above post from ten years ago in 2004 was from my Uncle.  We still haven't found Daniel! Best Wishes
