Watt Library - Lair details
« on: Wednesday 01 October 14 20:44 BST (UK) »
I have come across a receipt for a Lair in Port-Glasgow cemetery. It was purchased 1934 by Mr Walter and Mrs Theresa Cooke.

I would be very interested if someone could look these details up for me as I would like to confirm who else has been buried there.

I know Walter and Theresa were but I think a Wilfred James Cooke may also be there. It would be interesting if any other names also appear.

You mean the infant James Wilfred Cooke who died 28 FEB 1934 age 7 months, son of Walter and Teresa McCann.  I'm betting this is why the liar was purchased in 1934.  If you contact the Greenock Cemetery they maintain the lair books of Port Glasgow.

Thanks for your help. I'll be contacting Greenock Cemetery tomorrow.

Wilfred James Cooke has certainly come as a surprise as my mother-in-law was his sister and she would have been about 11 when he died but she never spoke about it.

I have downloaded a copy of Wilfreds death record from Scotlandspeople to add to the growing collection  ;)
