If you haven't already done so, a good way to make surname connections with other members is to enter your surname interests in the Surname Interests Table (SIT), and to check there whether others are researching these names.

This can be found at http://surname.rootschat.com/ , there is a link to it under "Your Tools" at the bottom of each Rootschat page.

The more people who enter their surnames, the more chance there will be of making a connection!

In the meantime, I will move this thread to the Australia board. :)

hi Phena

I am not sure what information you already have. I have found the details below and assume they are your couple
Thomas Dwyer married Margaret Madden in 1871 in Victoria, Australia
Children - Michael born 1872.Thomas born 1874, Bridget born 1875 - Bridget died aged 10 weeks in 1875; Mary Ann born 1878 and Margaret Easter born 1880.

All births registered in Heathcote which is close to Mia Mia.

Then a death - Margaret Dwyer died 1879 aged 29. Her parents Michael Madden and Bridget Coghlan.

Can you tell me who Thomas Dwyer married after the death of Margaret Madden?

Thomas DWYER married Mary MAHER, 19 July 1880 at St Mary's, Heathcote.

Children from this second marriage:
Honora(h) Kate (Kit) DWYER 1881 – 1945

Edward John DWYER 1883 –

Richard Charles DWYER 1884 – 1946

Annie DWYER 1899-1899

Richard Charles DWYER was my grandfather who moved to Melbourne in the 1920s, with his wife and 3 children. I have been in contact with Phena but not with any other descendants.

Thanks for the link, Tedscout as I hadn't seen that one

Thznks Teds,

Judith has provided the information. Granny Dwyer (Mary Maher) died in 1930 according to family bible. She was much loved by both her children and step children and their offspring according to my aunts.

The first marriage's children were Michael 1872 to 1933, Ellen 1873 to 1938 (my grandmother), Thomas 1875 to 1931, Elizabeth 1876 to 1964, Mary 1877 to 1966 and Margaret Esther 1879 to1925. I know Elizabeth had 2 sons, but thought that Mary did not.  I do not know about any of the others. I met Elizabeth and Mary in 1962 when I was a schoolgirl. Everyone else died long before I was born.
