joseph thomas birch

william albert birch was born in putney in 1891.he is with his mother maria birch and his father joseph thomas birch in 1891 but by 1901 his father is missing and by 1911 he with with his mum and step father mr.carroll from ireland.
my problem is i cant seem to find a death for joseph thomas birch.infact the only joseph thomas birch i can find is in kent in prison and saying he was born in kent.i dont think this is the same joseph thomas but if anyone can sort this out for me would be much obliged.thank you.there is family stories that they were of gypsy stock but i can find no reason to assume this.again if anyone can show different it would help clear matters up.

yes you have the right family.
1901 looks like he left his wife then if this is him.maria says on the 2011 cencus that she married mr carroll in 1903 but i havent found a marriage cert to know if they did marry.thanks for helping me.my friend knew there was a skeleton in the cupboard but wasnt sure what it was!!!

i wonder where william was in 1901?possibly a boarder at a school or staying with other family.he is with them as birch in 1911 and the other are all carroll

i am pretty sure thats marias marriage.i wonder if joseph had died by then or if it was a bigamist marriage,would be interesting to see if joseph thomas married his woman in sunderland at some point.
