Hi,

According to familysearch.org Elizabeth was one of nine children born to Henry Tucker and Sarah between 1839 and 1862 at Aldbourne, Wiltshire. Henry married there on 3 March 1837 to Sarah Hawkins.

Henry seems to have been christened 17 Mar 1811 the son of William Tucker and Mary. They appear to have had 7 children between 1798 and 1815 at Aldbourne. William and Mary Ball married at Aldbourne in 1797.

William's parents appear to be Richard Tucker and Sarah, with William being christened in either 1771 or 1775. Richard married Sarah Hobbs in 1769 and appear to have had 9 children between 1770 and 1787. Richard was christened 22 June 1740 (parents John Tucker and Ursula).

John and Ursula seem to have had 6 children between 1728 and 1745. John seem to have been christened 23 Jan 1703 the son of John Tucker and Mary

I think you will be able to take this further back if you so wish, but there is plenty here to whet your appetite and keep you busy!

Alan

Hi Alan,

Thank you so much for the additional information on the Tucker family, as you say there is plenty to keep me busy!

Who would have thought Elizabeth was one of 9 children, there didn't seem to have been much communication after the pair of them left England, although some of the first names are repeated in their own children.

Henry Able Flatman on the other hand was most forthcoming, not much of it true though.  Mind you in the 1800's who would have thought it was going to be so easy to check from the other side of the world. (smile) For all that he was well loved by his children as was Elizabeth.

Kind Regards,
kiwi
