Carrickfergus name Gallagher and McFerren/McFerran

My ancestors name is Agnes Gallagher, born 12.4.1847 Carrickfergus. Co of Antrim. Belfast. Ireland. Father was John Gallagher. Mother was Jane McFerran or McFerren. Agnes had a brother, John and a sister Eliza. There could be a sister Mary plus others. John, Agnes and Eliza came to Queensland, Australia. Can SKS tell me how to find out more about this family. I am a new member and do not have much idea where to start.

Thank you very much Christopher. Just found out a Henry Gallagher aged 18 came to Queensand, Australia on the 'Ariadne' in 1863 with Agnes aged 15 and Eliza aged 20. There was a brother, John, same name as father, so I presume he was older. May have been a Mary Gallagher as we have photos taken in Belfast of a Mary.

Hello Robin,

If you're still having an occasional read at this thread I may know a connection of your McFerran family.

A local singer songwriter named McFerran told me that his Dad has done a large amount
of research into the McFerran family.
