So By all accounts I can say that Michaels Father is Patrick and the Mother
is Catherine Halloran..
Now I get a few months to track down the Ireland Records for Patrick

Another interesting find on the deeds page..dont know if it means anything but listed at the bottom of the Page with the Hallorans is a Catherine Hanley..Michaels wifes maiden name is Hanley..

re: your certainty... well hopefully he's the correct one?  There were other Michaels whose births we may never find....That one was lucky as it was R.C. /  proceed at your own risk ( see my little quote at the bottom of my replies...)

Without parent's names- the Parish they came from?? ?? Without early census we don't even have ages for Patrick & Catherine...

Re: Hanley I noted there were some as well, although it is a common name...It would not have been impossible for the lad to return for a visit and meet & marry a gal...but you'll need to find the marriage to prove it...

Here is a map of Blackvile you can download where you can see all the names you'll see in the various grants....McGlaggan, Sutton, Street....  John McLaughland (which might be the proper spelling of the name )  now owns the 100 acres.....perhaps a son of Alexander "McLaggan" from the 1845 deed??
Alex appears to own a great deal of property along the river. He was a lumber merchant and part owner of the saw mill......and I'd say from the long list below, quite a land speculator. ( shows 22 records, and that is just for the one spelling!!! )

The 1851 shows he has eight servants...

Good news to report..It is confirmed
the father of Michael Boyce is Patrick.
and with new information provided by a cousin
Patrick is from Co Cork in Ireland..
So now starts another round of search search and search
