1861 Census Kilmonivaig

Good Evening
I have a page from the 1861 census which suggests a location called Forest of Coircreagach, Kilmonivaig which I am unable to locate using Google (I suspect that it is my interpretation of the word that is at fault)
Also the mothers place of birth is listed as Rofa Kintail.

I would be grateful if anyone can advise me as to the location of these two places

Rofa Kintail.

I think Rofa is Ross (as in Ross & Cromarty, county). Kintail is a parish in this county. An explanation why you are seeing an 'f' rather than double 's' here www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/query/0,5753,-24563,00.html

I was just going to say the same - Kintail is an area in Wester Ross (my dentist's main surgery was in Kyle!)  and the F is really the 'long s'

This is a magnificent landscape
I have now managed to locate the baptism of the mother in Kintail. Unfortunately, no such luck with her husband who was not present on the night of the 1861 census. (He was a gamekeeper which might explain their residential address in a forest)

I have a copy of their marriage in 1854 (ScotlandsPeople) which unfortunately does not give any information re their parents.

Good Morning Monica,
I have now found my Donald McIntosh (Mackintosh on his marriage certificate) on the 1841 Census, in Kilmonivaig,  aged 14 with unrelated people. On the 1871 Census he is with his wife and family in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. His place of birth is given as Kilmonivaig, Inverness-shire, he is aged 43 and a game keeper. I have not been able to find a birth record for him.

Any thoughts or pointers would be appreciated

Donald died in Aboyne May 26 1876.
His parents were given asJames Mackintosh, farmer and Christina m.s. Cameron.
Son Walter was the informant.
