Excellent. I did see the Glasnevin post. I have to pop out to take my little girl back to her mother but I will purchase the credits as soon as I get back. Either that or I'll do it on my mobile depending if I can be patient enough lol.

more Finlay confusion
Denis Finlay was convicted in 1901 of stealing coal, his next of kin is Maria Finlay of 42 City Quay this may have kept him off the 1901 census however
1901 Census of 42.1 City Quay shows
Maria Fennelly age 25 married
Christopher age 3
Maria age 2

this census form was filled out by the enumerator so he obviously wrote what he thought he heard
Maria say her name was.

Edit later
initial system 1901
F D age 25 Kimainham prison,born Kilkenny,coal labourer,married

I'm getting a sneaky suspicion that Mary Walsh ie wife of Patrick Walsh was born Mary Curtis !

I THINK this is her first marriage

NOTE THE ADDRESS

I think then that this is the baptism for her daughter Sarah, who went to be Mrs Finley !

It appears that in 1867 James Foley died.

He is buried at Glasnevin with an address of City Quay.

Mary Curtis' first husband James Foley dies in 1867.

She then meets Patrick Walsh in the following years.

We can see a daughter Catherine born to them in 1875

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/1d78410243822

We can also see a daughter Elizabeth born to them in 1882

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/3a901e0252052

Joseph was obviously born around 1885 (still to find baptism)

It would appear then that Patrick and Mary went on to married bliss in 1888

Who knows why Mary used her married name for her children's baptisms, it was more than likely to cover up the situation.

Anyway,

That's how it all looks to me  ;D ;D ;D
