Private Thomas Frederick Wyton
« on: Tuesday 26 August 14 17:28 BST (UK) »

I am hoping someone can help. Private Wyton Iowas my husbands father, born 1904 died 1968. In the early thirties, he was in the Leicestershire Regiment, but, word has it, that he transferred to the Royal Warwicks, and, eventually became a W.O. That he served at Dunkirk, in Egypt and Burma. Not disputing this, but, when he died, the family did not keep any photos, and this, over the years, has been very distressing for my husband.

A few years back, I managed to track down Canadian connections, because, my husbands uncle was a home child, and a letter to this uncle, from my father in law was discovered, in the possession of my husband's cousin. I wondered, if there might be someone, who may have known him and may have a photo of him, my husband would be delighted, even if it was as part of a group photo.

Thank you for your time

The Warwicks have a few battalions during WW2 - To identify which ones he served with you would need to apply for a copy of his service records from the MoD.
