Have found a transcription in the Essex baptisms

Edward Stephen George STRANGE born 28 Feb 1860 bap 27 May 1860
Parents
Henry Strange watch maker
Mary Rebecca
Plaistow, St. Mary The Virgin

Thanks - definitely them. I haven't really explored Henry's parents and aren't aware of another name. They seem to stick with Strains, or closely phonetic versions of that

MMN Fearn, birth registered in Medway. I've found  her  baptism  - parents John and Ann. From 1861 he's b Dover in 1827, so not Henry's brother

Hi
But isn't Medway Ann Maria's birth registered Dec qtr 1854
Baptized at Rochester 14 January 1855

Looks like she is with her father John in St Margaret Rochester in 1861

Ann M died May 1855 Clerkenwell must have been born around the end of 1852 / beginning of 1853, where you have a bit of a gap in the children of Henry and Mary.
She still may not be one of theirs of course, I don't know.

Re Ann Maria

Burial at Victoria Park Cemetery (from a transcription/index)
11 May 1855, Hannah Maria Strains, Clerkenwell Cl., age 2 yrs 6 months

Well on the original it says Clerkenwell Close

The PO London 1856 Directory (commercial section) has
Strains Henry, secret springer, 45 Clerkenwell close

That's also the address/abode on the 1855 baptism of Frances Nightingale (louisa maud Reply #4)
Father Henry Strains a Secret Springer.

Thanks Jonw65 - one more to add to the family. And again there's no obvious sign of a birth registration - wonder why they bothered for Louisa and not the others
