September 28th 1875 - 34th Foot embarked for India (Ferozepore)...

...Having left Curragh in July 1873 for Dublin, then (in June 1874) to Kilkenny, until moving to Cork on 4th June 1875.

You have to take care with these 'station locations'. The named place is where the CO was. Often the battalion would be spread in detachments of one or more companies far and wide. Most barracks could not accommodate a whole battalion. It was also desirable to show the flag over a wide area to help keep law and order. The police forces of the time being quite small.
