Hi

Do you mean you're struggling only with 1881 or can you not find them before that either?

Their ages are inconsistent over the years.  What ages were given for them at the time of marriage?
Ayr: Barnes, Wylie
Caithness: MacGregor
Essex: Eldred (Pebmarsh)
Gloucs: Timbrell (Winchcomb)
Hants: Stares (Wickham)
Lincs: Maw, Jackson (Epworth, Belton)
London: Pierce
Suffolk: Markham (Framlingham)
Surrey: Gosling (Richmond)
Wilts: Matthews, Tarrant (Calne, Preshute)
Worcs: Milward (Redditch)
Yorks: Beaumont, Crook, Moore, Styring (Huddersfield); Middleton (Church Fenton); Exley, Gelder (High Hoyland); Barnes, Birchinall (Sheffield); Kenyon, Wood (Cumberworth/Denby Dale)

The ages on their marriage was 'full age'.  I can't find anything on the 1881 or find any obvious, or even suitable, family before that for either of them.  And neither can I find any Matilda Fisher (witness at their marriage) who you would think was a sister or close relative.   I am absolutely and totally stuck.

Yes, full age is not very helpful!

I see that they did give separate addresses. 3 Queen St for him and Red Hill Street for her.

Yes, Findmypast used to do an address search, which would have been useful.  I have tried to locate both those streets to find their districts but to no avail.

Finding son Frederick's birth would obviously help re 1881.  His age varies too.

Is son George the George Field born 22 Oct 1882 baptised 3 Nov 1882 St Pancras, son of George & Louisa, abode Workhouse?

Interesting find by Heywood :)

Redhill Street is London NW1 Behind Regents Park off Albany Street
Queen Street is EC4, off Queen Victoria Street
Hope this helps
