Norfolk is a pretty big area to search......

Maybe it would be better to narrow it down a bit - do you know where they were married ?

This is the entry for 1861 -

RG9/1208  Folio 115  Page 3

at Horsford, Norfolk  (Reg district of St Faiths)

Address looks like - Newton Road?

Francis FOX   Head   70   Mar    Whaler      B: Hayden, Norfolk
Martha FOX   wife    60   Mar                          Colchester, Essex
Thomas FOX  son    20   Unmar  Ag Lab         Reepham, Norfolk
James FOX    son    19   Unmar  Ag Lab         St Faith's.

In 1841 - perhaps they were in the Reepham or St Faith's areas.

It looks like it might be the family I am inquiring about.

From the IGI I have found a marriage for a Francis Fox and Martha Leverick in 1826 in Norfolk.

Wish to know when the son Benjamin Leverick Fox was born (abt 1827) and whether I have the right parents?  He later emigrated to New Zealand and married in 1851.
Thanks for looking the Fox family up for me.

In the IGI - the marriage is listed as  29th June  1826 at St Mary's, Reepham with Kerdiston.....

I have a Norfolk census for 1841 & 1851 - I will search that area for you....but it may take a little while !

Just in case you are not aware of this website

I noticed there are a lot of FOXs, so it might be worth checking to see if any of yours are there.

Good luck

Hi Mirk,
I saw your request om Rootschat so am answering here. Iy is my family and I have been researching for some time.
GENERATION 1.
FRANCIS FOX married Ann Bulack 6.11.1781
I have one death for him dated 22 Feb 1788.
They had 3 children as follows:-
Mary Fox  born 1782
Frances Fox born 1785
Francis Fox born 1788.
It is rather peculiar they would have named 2 of their chidren Francis. The Frances is the girls spelling.
GENERATION 2.
FRANCIS FOX born 1791 married  Martha Leverick born 1801 on 4 June 1826 at St Marys at Reepham with Kerdison Norfolk.
Their children were as follows :-
Benjamin Leverick Fox born 1827. ( This was the original Benjamin Fox ) and he was married in NZ in 1876 to Jane Harlin then in 1907 to Mary Murphy. There was another wedding for Benjamin Fox in 1918 to Mima Milne Sutherland. I daresay this marriage was Benjamin Fox the nephew of Benjamin Leverick Fox...
Mary Leverick Fox born 1829
Francis Leverick Fox born 1832
Peter Bulack Fox born 1834
James Fox born 1837
Thomas Lornick Fox born 1838
There was also listed a Walter Fox born to Francis and Martha 1846 but it seems a lot later than the others but I suppose funnier things have happened.
Benjamin Leverick Fox was evidentally drowned when helping shipwreck victims in New Plymouth and his brother Peter was killed in 1911 in Lyttleton after being gored by a bull. I will get dates for these unfortunate happenings on Friday.
The family all lived in Norfolk.
My great grandfather was James Fox born 1837.
I have most of the descendants up to the present day if you would like them. Just let me know.
Regards Claire Reid
P.S. My email address is :-

I have not seen any information about Julia.
I would be pleased to hear from Julia Fox in New Zealand.
