Thank you so much.

My Hugh, was a labourer, son of a farmer ( Richard ), in 1840
               labourer, in 1845

Census entries give him as ag lab also.

In my searching I have come across Sailor for some Sharrocks, with a sailor / tailor ?  on some records.

I am slowly trying to piece together the family, hoping to find where neice Jane fits in.

Paternal line, ALL CORNISH ...
AUGER, BALL, BRAY, BROAD, COLMAN, COON, EDE, GLASSON, HICKS, INCH, LEMIN, RUNNALLS, PEARCE, PRATER, PROUT, TRUDGIAN, TREVAINS, VIVIAN, WELLINGTON, YELLAND

Hi Junket --- I can sympathise with the Sailor/Tailor quandary. I have families from around the same area -- and for  ages thought that one of them was a Tailor. He turned out to be a Boatman -- hence 'Sailor'.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
