Elizabeth MORRISH
« on: Sunday 17 August 14 15:31 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on my great grandmother x3 Elizabeth Morrish or Morish of Holsworthy Devon. I don't know much about her other than her birth date which is December 20, 1828 and that she married Aaron Oliver also from Holsworthy b.d. November 4, 1827. They moved to Canada between 1852 and 1861 so I am looking for records prior to that time, specifically her parents and siblings names. Any information would be appreciated, thanks so much!! Welcome to RootsChat

Unfortunately she is a servant to Samuel Allin a farmer in 1851, living at Vognacott, Holsworthy, Devon. So not with parents.

I have only found the marriage index which just list their own names and nothing else. I did see that Census where she is listed as a servant...again  no parents names and I'm afraid I've hit a brick wall there as well.

If she is the one on 1851 as mentioned above, it gives the place of birth as Bradworthy.
That could lead to

Neither of those can be correct if her DOB is Dec 20th 1828, so perhaps the census isn't the right one.

You can apply for a certificate from gro

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

You use the marriage reference given in the second reply from Rosie.
