Maskell Help

Greetings, I'm at a complete standstill with my mother's dad.Henry Charles Maskell.born 1886 Camberwell.I have some of his Defence details, however, my mother knows absolutely nothing of his family. I'm trying to find out anything.I'd dearly love to find school registers / reports etc, he died in 1953,whilst mum was only 11. Any ideas please ?

Have you any idea who he married and what his parents names were
I have found a baptism which may or not be him

date slightly out but they weren't always baptised at birth

Hi Louisa,
Many thanks for your fast reply. Yes, his parents were indeed your post. I've found a couple of brothers & sisters, (which my mum had no idea he had )myself. He joined the army, was discharged, then went back in again using his mother's maiden name of Hudson! We were told many years ago, he had married before he married my grandmother Maureen Wenlock Morris in 1950. All a bit heavy duty. Apologies.

The 1950 marriage index does give his surname as Maskell and Hudson.  Do you have a copy of this marriage to confirm his fathers details.

Many thanks for your assistance also. Yes, I do have a copy of the 1950 marriage, with his father's details. I'm trying to find a possible marriage well before this one, as he was 63 years old. How do I find a marriage before this one, as there could well be other children, belonging to my grandfather?

Have you got the 1891 and 1901 census? He is at home with parents and siblings

Yes, I've got both census pages. And the certificate shows him as a widower, & her a spinster.
