Emily (Patricia) Kyle

Looking for an Emily Patricia Kyle who came to Australia in 1973 from London's East End.  She had travelled to New York to look after an Opera Singers daughter and returned to UK and then came Australia for a few years.  She had a daughter and son in Australia.  Her son Harry worked for the ABC in Sydney (Australian Broadcasting Commission. She left Australia to be with family back in Middlesex and I  am  looking for her death.  She was born around 1910 or 1911.  She went by the name of "Pat" not Emily. Kyle was her married name.  She had a sister in Somerset on a farm? Any help appreciated.

Do you know that her middle name was "Patricia"?

There is an Georgina Emily BURTON who married a Harry George KYLE in Billericay, Essex in 1929. 

In 1937 - 1939  they are living in Hammersmith, as Harry George and Emily Georgina.
Harry may have died 1967, Kensington, age 65

Look up KYLE births  with mms BURTON between 1929 and 1940. There are 3 (not naming here, for privacy of the individuals and their families). See  the first 2 in particular.

Emily Georgina KYLE died in 1991, registered in Kensington/Chelsea. Her dob given as 2 May 1914. She may have been born Emily G BURTON, mms :McQUAID, reg West Ham, Essex Jun Qtr 1914.

Thanks for that Ambly.  I dont know for sure that her name was Patricia but she always went by "Pat".
With a son named Harry who was about 40 ish in the l970's.  I dont think it could be anyone else.  I remember I used to live in Barons Court and Pat knew a lot of places I frequented.  Hammersmith is the next train station.  Mind you this was years and years ago.  I will look up the births and thanks for respecting privacy Ambly. Gosh they married young in those days.  Thank you for all the info. I will follow up the births and if I think the one will order certificate.  You must be burning the midnight oil for which I am grateful. Carol

Those pet-names can send us off in all directions  - have a few of them in my tree, myself.

Unfortunately, her travel to & from US and AU, and finding a possible  Probate index for her husband (in which it may refer to widow  "Pat") are all outside the current databases parameters (that I'm looking at)  - next year, the probate Index will go to 1967, though...

Hi Ambly, nice place that Godzone!!  Got a houseful at my d.i.l's her Mum and stepdad are over.
The information you gleaned Ambly has enabled me to contact the oldest son and we have exchanged a lot of information.  Now to email the folk in the UK who were so keen to find out about her.  She was a "darling". Cheers CArolyn.
PS. The Opera singer was Barbara Cook and she looked after the little daughter.
Pet names can certainly throw a curly one but as you say, you are used to them. Thanks a lot.

Any chance of finding out where she was buried or do I need the death certificate to see if she was cremated.  Appreciate the help. Cheers Carol

Unfortunately, her death certificate will not tell you where she was buried/if she was cremated.  The family in the UK may know.

Sorry, but unless Ancestry get hold of the calendars that's as far as the database online goes. And we are holding our breath waiting for HMCTS to get their act together and do something for themselves but they don't have the financial or personnel resources.

If you need the calendars after 1966, you'll need to take a trip to the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand and do a search there. They have the calendars right up to date.

Some district probate registries, libraries and record offices have incomplete sets.
