I've been looking at this thread and it occured to me that the Glens of Antrim Historical Society
may be able to assist .. one of their members may have something on the Antrim Iron Ore Co.

I too am very interested in where my ancestors worked in the Antrim mines...did you find any names? Looking for Montgomery's?

Alan McCutcheon will have covered these mines in his research book , the Industrial history of Northern ireland.  he had a very large collection of Photographs he kept with him when he worked as the Curator of the Ulster Museum, Stranmillis road, Belfast..

Checked PRONI...there is one surviving Pay Register for Parkmore Mine (1905) in the Glenravel area for a mine called "H Road". I have taken down all the register names (no addresses are given or other details). I was looking for Montgomerys (3 generations of miners both in Glenravel/Broughshane and Straid) but unfortunately found none. Another mine with the great name of "Midgy Corner" is mentioned in passing

Whilst mentioning this, i wonder if anyone has any info on land ownership around parkmore and the now glenarife forest park. My info is that ancestors were either landowners or tenant farmers in the parkmore area and supplemented their farming income by working in the mines.
