Thomas Milne Shewan
« on: Sunday 03 August 14 15:25 BST (UK) »
Looking for descendants of Thomas Milne Shewan who was born in Aberdeen in 1894. On the 28th of February 1922 Thomas married Mabel Davidson at 323 Hardgate, Aberdeen. Shortly thereafter the couple emigrated to the USA landing on the 3rd of April 1922. They were joining a friend Peter Thomson at 226, West 146th Street, New York. In 1930 Thomas and Mabel were resident at 3958 51st Street, Queens, New York. Thomas died in 1995 in New York aged 90 years. Mabel died in 1988 in Houston, Harris, Texas. I believe some of their chldren still live in the USA. I am related through his grandmother one Jane Shewan, born in Shetland but lived most of her life in the Aberdeen area.

Welcome to RootsChat.

RootsChat is meant for finding ancestors, rather than living relatives.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

Considering that the descendants are more likely in the US, I will request that a global moderator move this thread to the United States board.  I did find a marriage for one of their daughters in a newspaper on www.fultonhistory.com, but unfortunately her husband's surname was very common.

It appears that one of Thomas & Mabel's daughter is still living, as I found an obituary for her husband.  I will send it to you via private message.
