Good Afternoon,
I was researching my Welsh family history this morning (snowed in!) and I noticed for sale (in Australia!) an empty envelope addressed to Mrs Thomas Davies at Goleufryn House Treorchy. from a Rev. Jones in North Wales.
It is in an auction that finishes in 6 days time. I noticed your interest in the family name from your 2014 post on here.
If you are still interested, would you like me to bid for the envelope? Set a maximum of say £10 cost including postage from Down Under? Nice to have something actually handled by the family.

Are you related to Reverend Thomas Davies? I'm not but a relative of his (an aunt) married into my family. I'm in touch with two descedants of that aunt and I keep them up to date with anything I find on the Davies side.

Many thanks for your swift and positive reply.

No, I am not related to the family, but I had (have?) family members spread across several valleys, due to the Industrial Revolution. Bare in mind this is an envelope only, no letter included. I live in an ex Victorian Post Office, and have several items that were franked here by the Postmistress over a hundred years ago, and it is satisfying when items return 'home'. I will place a bid, and let you know in a week how we get on!
