Good Morning Leen,
Well thank you for that and your other sound advice. Using what you taught me

I managed to find Joanne Baptiste's marriage certificate and then I found his birth certificate in Brussels 1831 Image 134)
His parents were Joseph & Levine Dessree (or similar!) so I decided to go back from his birth to see if I could find their marriage in the Indexes. I thought I had found it shortened to Jos but after much trawling through it turned out to be a Jacobus, so wasted a lot of time!!.
So I started again and the first page I looked at was for him and his wife. They married 26 April 1820 in Brussels (Image No 345)
Joseph's parents were Simon Joseph and his wife was Theresa Van Rinsfeld )
Her parents were Jean Desssree and Anne Ettebod, (There is another word Saveure ,but I am not too sure whether
this is her surname and Ettebod is a middle name) It doesn't seem to translate in Google!
Also I think it says that Levine lived in Republic of France for either last 5 years or just five years. My schoolgirl French is atrocious, teacher was right when he said I should pay more attention in class!
Even though I couldn't translate them properly I felt pretty pleased with myself

The intrepid travellers arrived home last night and my hallway is a mass of emptied suitcases and dirty laundry. I have left the wash powder & conditioner on top of the washer. I hope they don't think I will be washing clothes today....I am far to busy with more important things!
Kind Regards
Gaynor x
