Trying to find all the Tiffen males mentioned to see where they were born. But none alive so far!

Independant on Census for Occp means the had independant means, investments/cash/land etc, from which a income was received.

I think your English Tiffin may be James English Tiffen bap. 31 May 1757 at Lavenham , Suffolk,
parents Thomas and Elizabeth. ( Apologies if you already have this.)

MARY ELIZABETH Tiffin was Christened 13 March 1831 to TIMOTHY BOOSEY Tiffin and MARY Tiffin
She is likely a Sibling of JAMES ENGLISH Tiffin with Parents TIMOTHY/MARY 1820 Bocking

1861 she is a Cook in the Household of ? Boosey, 35, Unm, who runs a Ladies Boarding School in Bocking.
Cant find her before that.

AH, 1851 she is Elizth Tiffin age 20 with Sarah Mary BEASEY (sic) in Bocking.
1841 has a TIMOTHY Tiffen c 1791 living in Bocking, Occp Miller.

Sorry , should have stated that the 1757 baptism in Lavenham ( on familysearch ) was Non-Conformist and that the couple were of Acton , a village close to Lavenham.

OK, James English and Mary E's Father was Timothy Boosey TIFFEN, Bachelor of Stepney, Middlesex, who married Mary BOOSEY, Spinster, 23 Jan 1818, St Mary, Bocking

So was Timothys Father WILLIAM who married another Mary BOOSEY 1783.
The 1841 Census may be Timothy.

OK, getting kinda confused here  ,  time for a recap ( for my that is ) ;

forgetting siblings etc, there are 3 x "James English Tiffin's" ;

the first ; parents are William Tiffin and Dinah Cooke, whom marry 1804, Hadleigh, Suffolk. birth/chr unkown.

the second'; parents are Thomas Tiffin and Elizabeth (unknown), marriage (unknown), son is chr 31-05-1757, Lavenham, Suffolk.

the third ; parents are Timothy Tiffin and Mary (unkown), marriage (unknown), son is chr 1820, birth 1818, non conformist Bocking Essex.

One of these is my "English Tiffin" without the James ? the second one as suggested by Christine
